Dr. Todd and Lisa Sartor-  Dr. Sartor, the owner of Champions Forest Animal Clinic, purchased the practice in 2003. He is a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Sartor practiced for 2 years in Lubbock  (his home area) and then for 7 years in a mixed animal practice in Canyon Lake. His special areas of interest in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, dermatology, preventative health, and senior/geriatric medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Sartor is married to Lisa since 1989 and blessed with 3 wonderful daughters.  Lisa is a Texas Tech graduate and the Hospital Manager since 2008. They are active in their church and and support various mission ministries. In their spare time, they enjoy camping, hiking, playing on the beach, home improvement projects, and riding dirtbikes!

 

Dr. Elizabeth Johnson- Dr. Johnson was born and raised in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Animal Science and minor in Wildlife and Fisheries Science in 2012. She stayed at UT for veterinary school, completing her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in May 2016. Dr. Johnson always knew she would live in Texas one day, and is thrilled to join the team at Champions Forest! She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Associate. Dr. Johnson is a huge Tennessee Volunteers fan--Go Vols!--and enjoys hiking, reading, spinning classes, and cooking. She participates in animal-assisted therapy visits to hospitals and schools with her Labrador Retriever, Gunner, as well. Dr. Johnson also has a dramatic cat, Purrlie. 





Dr. McKinlea Wells- Dr. Wells is a 2012 honors graduate from Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She also has a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M in Biomedical Science. She was raised in a small town in North Texas, but has decided to make Houston her home. Her veterinary interests include dentistry, preventative medicine, canine reproduction, and internal medicine, especially in the areas of neurology and endocrinology. Dr. Wells is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice (TAVP). As an active member of the Academy, Dr. Wells is required to obtain 150 hours of approved education within a three year period.  The state of Texas only requires 17 hours per year. Dr. Wells, her husband, Stephen, a mechanical engineer, and their beautiful daughter Anna currently reside in Houston with their four black and tan shelter rescue dogs - Snickers, Lola, Twix and Lily. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, baking, playing piano, shooting pistols, remodeling their house, and most of all - spending time with family.

 


Dr. Shawn Van Fleet-  Dr. Van Fleet is a graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She finds she is most passionate about preventative medicine and optimizing quality of life for our furry companions. Married in 2013, Dr. Van Fleet and her husband David enjoy traveling and together have two dogs, Scarlet and Columbus. Outside of the clinic she enjoys the outdoors, baking, gardening, and hopes to have a mixed herd of goats and ducks in the future.
